Hugh Hefner Passes Away At Age 91
Media legend Hugh Hefner has passed away. He was 91 years old.
The iconic founder of Playboy magazine reportedly died of natural causes at his equally iconic home, the Playboy Mansion, on Wednesday.
The news was confirmed by Playboy Enterprises, according to CNBC.
Hefner’s media empire, Playboy, was founded over 60 years ago with just $600 and a $1000 loan from Hefner’s own mother. His first nude centerfold was pin-up and Hollywood icon, Marilyn Monroe.
Hugh’s own burial plot is located right next to Marilyn’s as well.
Hugh was legendary in his own right, as well as an activist for civil rights and other causes and a philanthropist as well. Hit the flip for some celeb reactions to the news…
Young Thug just can’t seem to catch a break with the APD.
Just one day after getting picked up by cops in the Brookhaven area of Atlanta and charged with marijuana possession and a misdemeanor window tint violation, Young Thug is staring down even more felony charges from the confines of his jail cell.
Apparently, when cops pulled him over on Sunday night, they searched his car due to the “strong smell” of mary jane coming from the inside, according to TMZ. Upon searching the vehicle, they came up with the marijuana in question, liquid codeine, and other narcotics, 2 guns, and nearly $50,000 in cash.
So now, on top of the weed and tint, he’s looking at felony charges for the guns, and the lean.
Whew…we hope Thug has a good lawyer.
If you’ll recall, Cardi tweeted about an incident where an NYPD officer placed her in an unnecessary choke hold…but didn’t give any further details about it and refused to speak with cops “investigating” the situation. Now, during a sit down with 99 Jamz, she explains exactly what went down — and the role she admittedly played in it all — and explains why she won’t be going down to the station to give any statements to “12.”
The Long History Of Young Dolph And Yo Gotti’s Relationship
Yo Gotti has inarguably received more mainstream success in the past couple of years than any other artist from Memphis. Especially with his most recent single, “Rake It Up” with Nicki Minaj peaking at number 8 on the Billboard Hot 100, Yo Gotti is hotter than he’s ever been. Young Dolph is another rapper from Memphis, and though he may not be a household name, he’s undoubtedly some serious competition for Gotti as the king of Memphis. He’s a self-made millionaire who often boasts about his refusal to sign to anyone, and the musical accomplishments he’s made without a label is indeed impressive.
On Tuesday, Young Dolph was shot multiple times on the corner of Hollywood and Highland in Los Angeles, California. Though Yo Gotti was initially taken in as a person of interest–and it has been said that the shooting happened as a result of the two artists staying in the same hotel and getting into an argument–Corey McClendon, one of Gotti’s supposed associates, ended up actually being arrested.
If you’re new to the Dolph/Gotti beef, or even if you’re fans of both and just aren’t sure where exactly their feud began, here’s an extensive timeline of the tumultuous relationship between the Memphis rappers:
Roc Nation Auctioning Made In America Memorabilia For Hurricane Relief
In an effort to help those affected by this year’s hurricanes, Roc Nation will host an auction with memorabilia from this year’s Made In America Festival. Items will be signed by artists from the label like Jay Z, J.Cole, and Pusha T.⠀⠀
The pieces up for auction include a jacket with handwritten signatures from the likes of Jay Z, Migos, J. Cole, and Pusha T. The jacket is reportedly worth $3,000, but could obviously go for a lot more. Other jackets to be auctioned off include the Liberty, Freedom, and Tidal jackets with signatures from Cardi B, Vic Mensa, 21 Savage and more–so it looks like the signatures aren’t just limited to those on Roc Nation. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In addition to the auction, Tidal and Vic Mensa recently partnered with Music Cares to host a pop-up show in Los Angeles to gain supplies and donations for hurricane victims. Each concert-goer is required to bring toiletries or school supplies to gain entry and all concert proceeds will be donated to the various regions affected.
Lishan Wang Sentenced To 32 Years For Murdering Dr. Vajindeer Toor
A Georgia man’s long, drawn-out murder trial is finally over. Lishan Wang, 51, of Marietta, GA was sentenced to 32 years in prison for murdering a Yale University doctor he claims had him unfairly fired years earlier.
According to WSB-TV after nearly a decade, Wang was finally handed down his punishment.
Wang, 51, gunned down Dr. Vajindeer Toor and shot at his pregnant wife outside their home in a New Haven suburb in 2010. The wife, Parneeta Sidhu, was unharmed.
Prosecutors report that an irate Wang drove 1,000 miles to kills Toor for “unfairly firing him” and “ruining his medical career.”
Wang had been facing murder charges but received lesser charges of manslaughter, attempted assault and other gun crimes.
Tonja Walker Tries To Backtrack After Racist Comments About NFL
If you’ve never heard of Tonja Walker, join the club. She’s an actress who has most notably appeared on both General Hospital and One Live To Live.
In a now deleted (but never forgotten) tweet, Tonja heavily insinuated that the Black athletes who are kneeling for the National Anthem should stand up and be grateful, because if they lived anywhere else they would be doing manual labor.
Obviously this didn’t go over well, and people started to tell her how terrible of a comment this is, since she apparently didn’t think so herself. Even after deleting the tweet, Walker continued to reply to people screenshotting it and calling her racist, only making matters worse for herself. She heavily insisted that there’s no way she can be racist: she attends a heavily Black church….AND her best friend’s daughter is Black. Classic.
Hi everyone. I've been so hurt by people saying I'm a racist, when my best friends' daughter is black.Totally wrong. This is destroying me.

Not only that, but she “put underprivileged African Americans thru private schools”! What a saint.
The athletes are of all races. I have put underprivileged African Americans thru private schools. I'm truly sorry if u misunderstood me. https://t.co/dqlHOOSmx3

Tonja’s tweets continue to dig her deeper in her hole as she insists she cannot be racist due to her former associations with Black people. Ma’am, implying Black people’s only option for work beside sports is menial, manual labor is not only completely misinformed, but yes, racist. As you suggested in the tweet above, cancel your account. Please.
After his former collaborator and friend Jay-Z turned down the opportunity to perform at the Half Time show, the word on the street is that Justin Timberlake will be the one to make an appearance for this year’s Super Bowl.
This is semi-controversial for a couple reasons, the first being the fact that us woke folk are boycotting the NFL (though, now the super conservatives are reportedly boycotting too, since some of the players kneeled in solidarity with Colin Kaepernick and to protest Donald Trump’s derogatory comments). Either way, a lot of people who usually do watch football, aren’t. For someone like Justin Timberlake, who has before been criticized for capitalizing off Black music without contributing to the cause, this could be a bad look.
Another reason this comes as a sort of surprise–beside the fact that Justin Timberlake doesn’t have any new music out–is due to his last appearance at the Super Bowl. JT’s 2004 performance with Janet Jackson obviously caused a stir when he pulled off part of her costume and revealed her pierced nipple–the Federal Communications Commission even cracked down on new policies and a five-second broadcast delay during live performances was implemented because of it.
Who knows what will happen with the NFL by the time the Super Bowl rolls around–will y’all be watching?
